Lenses
At Paris Optique, our full-service lab takes care of your eyewear from start to finish. The frames you select for your prescription purchase are serviced in house where we place your prescription lens precisely and meticulously into your frame selection. Our team of skilled opticians have each been in the industry for over 20 years and have the knowledge and experience to provide the best frame fit for you and your individualized prescription.
We know there are many options for your prescription lenses, and we will gladly offer our professional opinion for your purchase.
Our preferred, and most popular lens material is trivex. Trivex is a lightweight lens material that provides optimal clarity. We recommend trivex for all patients that have a mild to a medium prescription as it is the most durable lens with the best visual clarity. In most cases, this is the lens material that we recommend to our clients.
Polycarbonate is a common lens material used for patients as well. Polycarbonate is also shatter resistant and is lighter and thinner than plastic lenses. While polycarbonate is a popular choice, it does not have the same optical clarity as trivex lenses.
CR-39 (plastic) is the most basic lens material available. We recommend this lens for patients with low prescriptions, as it is the thickest material on the market, and therefore, the heaviest. CR-39 can shatter upon impact, so we will not recommend or use this for any sort of sport protection or youth use.
High Index 1.67 is a great choice for patients with a medium to high prescription. This lens is thinner than trivex, polycarbonate and CR-39, and still provides wonderful optical clarity. For patients with a higher prescription, 1.67 is our labās go-to material.
High Index 1.74 is the absolute thinnest lens available on the market. For clients that are very āthickness consciousā, this lens material is best for the patients with a high prescription. This lens is about 20% thinner than 1.67.
Coating Options
Anti-Reflective Coating
In our professional opinion, anti-reflective coating is a must-have for your eyewear. Anti-reflective coatings help improve your vision by reducing glare caused by artificial light, and additionally, anti-reflective coating vastly improves the aesthetic of your eyewear on your face. We also offer Blue-Light Filtering Anti-Reflective coating that filters the blue-light that shines through from your computer or cellphone usage. We highly recommend this for those that have high screen time. Your eyes will thank you.
Transitions/Sensity
Available in brown or grey, we do offer transitions for our clients. Transition and Sensity lenses change from fully clear indoors to dark grey or brown outdoors. These lenses do need direct contact with the sun, therefore, they will not work while driving.
Customizable Tints
See a tint you like that you want placed into your pair of personalized eye or sunglasses? Paris Optique will gladly recreate the closest tint match possible.
